Emagine 2016 was a great experience. It exposed me to all new types of great art. Even the categories i wasn't interested in pulled me in. I saw all new types of graphic design, video, animation and all other types. My favorite category was probably the short film section of the award ceremony. I loved the one that won, "Ghost Guys". It made me laugh and pulled me in. There was a few categories that i wish someone else would have won but overall everyone who won, placed or even entered did a wonderful job. The thing about the type of art we do is that its different to everyone, One piece would be beautiful to one person and the next person could hate it. I also think that it was wonderful to see people from all over bonded together by this one art form. 10/10 would recommend.

For this project we studied the work of Saul Bass(creates movie posters). We took to google and searched some of this work.  We studied how his work is and what the main factor of his work is. He had different aspects. For example he used a limit of 3 colors and black/white. He also included a few main aspects that either included what the movie was about or the main character of the movie itself. From there we thought of ideas of what movies we'd like to make into a poster. We took those ideas and made some sketches for three movies. The three movies i've decided between were "Hector and the search for happiness", "Perks of being a wallflower", and "Forest gump". I decided i liked the idea of doing one for "Hector and the search for happiness". For our graphic design final we were instructed to make 3 things. One business card with a pattern, one with a picture and text and one postcard with a quote. I started by taking idea from the website  https://www.moo.com/us/ I looked through different business cards with patterns on them and came across this one. --->  This pattern really caught my eye but i knew that if i created a simlilar pattern i would need to change the color. I took to illustrator. I messed around with this idea in mind for a while but ended up simplifying the pattern. I changed the colors to blue because it showed my love for Olathe Northwest and how my decision to go here instead of Olathe East changed my life for the better. It still followed the basic idea of that pattern but in a way that spoke to me. During the 1st semester of my sophomore year in video, my classmates and i learned did multiple projects. We started the year with an easier project to get us back into the swing of things by doing a video of a simple school procedure. https://youtu.be/mhJxkTW6w_U  Jake and i did our video over the proper way to go to and use the new water fountains in our school. The video itself was a short video but betrayed a procedure. I feel like Jake and i did a good job on that one.
